About
Dr Iryna Kyselova is an academic clinician with more than twenty‑five years of experience in paediatric anaesthesiology, perioperative medicine and intensive care. Trained as a paediatric anaesthesiologist in Ukraine, she has combined clinical practice with university‑level teaching since 2013, holding Assistant Professor positions at Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine and Bogomolets National Medical University. Her academic work focuses on perioperative physiology, stress response, enhanced recovery pathways in children, regional anaesthesia, airway management and simulation‑based training.
She has led national clinical studies, contributed to multicentre European research through the ESAIC Clinical Trial Network, and coordinated the APRICOT study in Ukraine. Her research has resulted in peer‑reviewed publications, guideline development and international presentations. In 2026, her project on difficult airway simulation received the Education & Training Prize at the Winter Scientific Meeting in London.
Beyond research, she takes a lead role in organising the British‑Ukrainian Symposium on Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine (the largest international conference for anaesthetists in Ukraine) and the Christmas Regional Anaesthesia School. She has developed extensive educational resources, including YouTube videos.
